Christmas 2011 our donation - We are pleased to announce that our donation to the Elterninitiative krebskranker Kinder Erlangen e.V. has once again been very well received. The Erlangeninitiative, established by parents of children with cancer, helps and supports children and teenagers with cancer. Several important projects are planned for 2012 and we are delighted to be able to support these with our donation.
The projects include the acquisition of new equipment for the Oncology Unit in Erlangen and renovations to the facilities for parents at the hospital to allow them to stay overnight. It goes without saying that the donation primarily helps to fund ongoing projects. These add a bit of fun to everyday life on the ward, and children and teenagers are given the opportunity to cook, play and listen to music, and paint together. In addition, wherever possible, they can enjoy family outings with their parents and siblings away from the hospital.
We hope that this initiative will continue to receive the same level of generous support from all parties, allowing the continued implementation of a variety of projects which benefit the children and teenagers concerned. Andreas Floris artwork - the temporary exhibition currently on display at Xchange Services and English Studio is a collection of cartoons and landscapes by Andreas Floris. Born in Budapest in 1948, Andreas Floris has been working in Nuremberg as a press artist, caricaturist and illustrator for many years. His passion is representing people as they try to break out of the inadequacies or untenable restrictions imposed by their environment.
His works often border on satire, depicting the transitional space where human behaviour tips from the incomprehensible to the absurd.
